The mountain that is distinguished as the “perfect cone” due to its almost symmetrically conical shape is the Mount Mayon or Mayon Volcano. It is located in the Province of Albay, southeast of Luzon, Philippines. Local myths named the volcano after the legendary heroine Daragang Magayon (a Bikol dialect meaning Beautiful Lady), so it was later on called as Bulkang Magayon (Beautiful Volcano).
To see Mayon at its most beautiful sight, make sure that the weather is good and the skies are clear to appreciate the picturesque beauty of the mountain.
Mount Mayon is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines. Based on records, it has undergone forty-nine eruptions The most destructive eruption of Mayon occurred on February 1, 1814 that buried the town of Cagsawa, yet no matter how many times it erupted the shape still remain as beautiful as ever.
