Party and Explore the Sights in Perth
Perth is the fourth most populated city in Western Australia. Known for its year-round sunshine and relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to get away and have fun. Hit The Beach
Cottesloe Beach, located about 15 minutes outside the city, is one of Western Australia’s most popular beaches for swimming and snorkeling with its crystal clear waters. Large waves also make it a popular destination for surfers and body boarders. Cottesloe Beach offers a relaxing atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing in the sun or watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean.
Next to the beach, there’s a large, shaded grassy area, the Cottesloe Esplanade, that’s a great spot for a picnic lunch and a cold drink. Along the Marine Parade, you’ll find hip cafes and bars where you can get a beach side meal and a beer. If you want to explore another nearby beach, follow the Oceanway path by foot or bicycle. The Oceanway provides easy access between beaches.
Cruise the Swan River
Plan a party cruise down the Swan River to the port of Fremantle, a city that’s full of things to do. Browse Market Street and South Terrace where you can shop for art, books and trendy clothing. On weekends, Fremantle has a lively party atmosphere with lots of activity including roving musicians and magicians. You can checkout artwork and hand-made jewelry, have your fortune read with tarot cards or sit for a portrait. Along South Terrace, you’ll find cozy cafes for lunch and fish and chips at the wharf. At night, head to Fishing Boat Harbour where you’ll find some cool pubs with great ale and beer and a lively nightlife.
Take a Ferry Ride
Hope on a ferry and take a party cruise to Rottnest Island where you’ll find 63 different beaches and absolutely no cars. You can scuba dive in Fish Hook Bay with colorful coral reefs, or snorkel at Parker Point where you can explore underwater shipwrecks. If you’re a surfer, venture to Salmon Bay or Stark Bay where the waves are typically three to six feet high. For a history lesson, rent a bike and ride to Oliver Hill. You’ll love the underground tunnels and huge cannons left there from the last century. Don’t forget to climb the old Wadjemup Lighthouse at Wadjemup Hill to take in panoramic ocean views.
