An Essential Checklist for Last Minute Holidaymakers
Last minute holidays offer some of the best prices on stints in the sun. Cheap holidays abroad don’t get better than this!
While you’ve made significant savings, be sure not to lose your mind, and be sure you’ve got all the essentials sorted for your bargain break abroad.
- Vaccinations
With so little time left before you fly, check with your doctor as soon as possible regarding any urgent vaccinations you may need.
2. Entry Requirements
When you book your holiday you should be advised of your destination’s legal entry requirements. Apply for any visas as soon as possible once your holiday is confirmed.
3. Passport
Make sure your passport has a minimum of six months remaining, from the date of your return to the UK. Same day passport services are available; more details from the Home Office are available online.
4. Insurance
Do not travel without adequate insurance. Search the web for the best deals.
5. Travel Documents
Depending on when you book, your travel documents may be posted, emailed or left for collection at your outbound airport.
6. E111 Card
Do not travel without your European Health Insurance Card. This ensures you are entitled to free or discounted health services should something adverse occur abroad.
7. Friends and Family
Leave your details with a trusted friends or family member. This should include your hotel and flight details.
8. Driving License
Driving a vehicle abroad requires a full, current UK license. Swot up on the rules of the road.
9. Travel Advice
Every destination is different, and Travel Advice Pages from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office can keep you up to speed with any issues you need to be aware of.
10. Transport
How will you get to the airport? Don’t forget to book a taxi!
